Kate Smith earned her J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law and later earned her LL.M. from Pepperdine University School of Law. She is skilled in representing a variety of complex legal issues, including planning and zoning, family law, contract disputes, corporate formation, and more. AUSTIN (February 10, 2016) − Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS) announced Kate Smith received Board Certification in Family Law. Kate Smith currently practices in Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, and Collin Counties where she practices family law at the Law Office of Kate Smith.
Board Certification is a voluntary designation program certifying Texas attorneys in 22 specific areas of law. Board Certified attorneys must be licensed for at least five years, devote a required percentage of practice to a specialty area for at least three years, attend continuing education seminars, pass an evaluation by fellow lawyers and judges and pass a 6-hour written examination.
